There are new airs behind the scenes of WaxUp Africa – or rather a move to a whole new level. In order to offer the best of Mother Africa, while being a light on its abundant wealth, we spent a few days this fall in Ivory Coast, to relax and source the best materials for the greatest satisfaction of our clientele. Our destination? Abidjan.
Everything was going so fast! Spotting, appointments and negotiations … Though everything was so fluid. Between two missions, we had the opportunity to discover the magnificence of this city. Beautiful art venues, unusual restaurants and cafes, colorful streets full of life and of course shops filled with beautiful textiles!
We also met great people who build solidly on the omnipotence and undeniable potential of Africa!
STRONG LINKS WOVEN WITH IVORY COAST
We have been able to find suppliers with excellent fabric quality and unique and original designs. The choice of the right fabric is decisive for us and Abidjan has fulfilled us at all levels! We have also entered into a partnership with a truly new and knowledgeable workshop whose expertise is a key resource for WaxUp Africa.
Our next collection will be made entirely of selected fabrics in Abidjan. Some of the creations will be designed in our new workshop, in this same city. Another part will be made in Ghana.
This relocation is a strategic and relevant choice that will allow us to continue to serve the best quality of fabric while remaining consistent and aligned with the WUA vision. Because yes, Côte d’Ivoire is a must-have cornerstone in the industrial and craft textile sector.
We will tell you more about fabrics in an upcoming article specifically dedicated to this topic. Do not hesitate to subscribe to our WUA Inside News to be informed of all our news!
Some nuggets of Abidjan
A real favorite for us. This cafe, which looks like an art gallery and museum, is a real little cocoon away from the “urban jungle”. A truly unique and surprising place, as we have rarely seen. Built on several floors, this property features a hotel, art and museum-themed spaces, and a rooftop restaurant / cafe serving delectable dishes.
DOZO, AFRICAN STORE CONCEPT
We have been conquered by this concept store which is full of wonders, as many in art as in decoration, in cosmetics and jewelry. Style, originality and a well-assumed identity. This store is managed by a group of young visionaries, ambitious and highly creative!
This is the kind of discoveries on the continent that make us vibrate. It is so exhilarating to see these initiatives that contribute to highlighting the Made in Africa, under a new fresh look, aesthetically beautiful and neat.
