WaxUp AFrica is thrilled to be part of an extraordinary experience at the Antigel Festival on Thursday, February 7th. On the program: a flamboyant concert, a market rich in artisanal products and round tables on key themes.
It’s the evening [AFRICA, WHAT’S UP? / AFRICA MAGIC], signed Antigel and Afrodyssée: two key actors who make the cultural scene move in Switzerland!
WaxUp Africa will be offering a sewing salon at the Grand Central African Market all night long! It is a rich market that will showcase the best craft products in Africa. There will be jewelry, gastronomy, natural care products and iconic textiles.
We are preparing a selection of unique fabrics with subtle and exclusive designs! They will all be available for purchase throughout the evening. Cherry on the cake: we will bring a tailor who will customize, live, clothing and accessories. Yes, LIVE!
Explore your closet to find what you did not wear anymore. Also think about this accessory that was waiting for the original touch to spice up your outfits.
This is an opportunity to get quality fabrics, certified Made in Africa and to give a new look to a garment. Even if it is to make a simple tour of the market, it is a great opportunity to live a unique experience in Geneva! In addition, the event is free and open to everyone.
Antigel x Antidote tote bags in the colors of WaxUp Africa
This evening will also host PONGO, flamboyant artist, who will bring the warmth of Angola to the heart of the Geneva winters. We look forward to welcoming you to the Grand Central on Thursday February 7th!

We provided the Antigel festival with WaxUp Africa fabrics for an intergenerational and intercultural sewing workshop. This workshop was proposed by the Antidote project, which proved to be a great success at the 2018 edition. Antidote gathered professional dressmakers who are asylum seekers and refugees, as well as seniors attending an animation center for the retired, to make together beautiful tote wax bags.
The wax bags made are superb! In addition to appreciating the impeccable work, we sincerely welcomed this project that aims to highlight the multicultural and intergenerational wealth by valuing the skills of each person, regardless of his status, age or origins.
These beautiful ANTIGEL x ANTIDOTE tote bags, in WaxUp Africa fabrics, will be available at the entrance of the shows, Grand Central and Alhambra, during the Antigel Festival, from February 1st to 23rd 2019.
The Antidote project will donate the revenues to the Elisa-Asile association which accompanies refugees in their administrative and legal procedures. Take a tour of the festival and get yourself one of these great bags to strength this fantastic initiative.
